Company Background
CareData Trak is a clinical decision support
software company founded in 2006 by owner and CEO, Dexter
Klock, D.Sc., P.E. The company originated from a 2004-2006
research study designed to computerize paper-based tests and
screening for common geriatric syndromes in seniors.
Through rigorous evaluation by a team of physicians
and testing in an assisted living community, CareData Trak’s
e-screening tool was found to have a positive impact on the
quality of life for the elderly. By using computer-based interviewing
on kiosks or tablet computers, syndromes can be identified
which were not previously known by an individual or their
healthcare professional.
CareData Trak has delivered projects for The
Institute for Optimal Aging of Brookdale Senior Living, the
Merck Institute on Aging and Health, the Peninsula Agency
on Aging, the Center for Excellence in Aging and Geriatric Health, the Department of Social Services and Department of Health for Fairfax
County, Virginia and the Virginia Department of Corrections.
CareData Trak continues to innovate with its
unique and flexible design to impact the transformation of
the healthcare industry in which technology helps patients
become more engaged and ownership-driven while reducing cost
for both themselves and their healthcare providers.
